Policy for timed inspections
- Footers: A customer can request a specific time. The inspector will try to be at the job site within 15 minutes of the time requested.
- Plumbing and Gas Piping Air test: Can be scheduled for AM or PM.
- Electrical, Mechanical, Fireplace, Frame and Final Inspections: No specific time given. The time generally be between 8am and 4pm.
- Electrical Service Change at an Existing Structure: When Allegheny Power is going to energize an electrical service, at a specific time, for a service replacement, a timed inspection can be provided.
- Exception: The inspector is not permitted to enter an owner occupied/existing home without a contractor or owners representative present. A time will be given for owner occupied homes.
By restricting the number of timed inspections the Code Administration can perform the most inspections possible in a given day. If you are not sure, ask the secretary whether a time can be given. Please do not call the inspector the morning of the inspection for a time.
