New ordinance prohibits overstuffed furniture on porches...

Fatal fires have occurred in campus communities across the country because of this hazard. This fire code update is intended to prevent a similar tragedy in State College.

  • Violators of this ordinance will receive a written warning first, followed by a fine if you fail to comply.
  • The fines range from $100.00 to $1,000.00 for each occurrence.
  • Do your part in making your house safe from fire.
